At the Embassy of Non-Participation of the Sydney Biennale

Patricia Ines Hoeppe empowered in her workshop ‚be (not) part‘ 40 participants to find and assert their own positions through poietic actions. Starting point was the mimetic moment of the film ‚Hold your Ground‘ by Karen Mirza and Brad Butler (2012) https://www.biennaleofsydney.com.au/20bos/artists/karen-mirza-and-brad-butler/ .
The idea behind the workshop was to highlight how non-participation ca be a form of societal resistance or self-expression, and how individuals can actively shape their role in a democratic society. A final collective performance visualized the claim to active democratic participation in the transition from ARTSPACE to the City of Sydney.
