The annihilation of the image

People move in their pprojection

of omission in a repetitive manner. These are everyday movements: waiting, looking around, turning back, checking the time, waiting again. The sequences of movement are either held in place or constantly dissolved and reformed. When the viewer enters the scene, they become a participant. By stepping into the video projection, they erase the light projections with their own physicality. They transform into a positive-negative pair.

This installation addresses the dualism between projected image and physical reality, between the immaterial and the corporeal. The participant assumes an active, dual role, as by physically entering the video installation, they cast a shadow over the light projection, thereby erasing the visual event. Yet in the manner of interactive environment, it is through this very action that work comes into being.
